The exhibition presents both known and unknown events, facts and pictures that tell the story of the Bulduri area.

 The authors of the exhibition do not pretend to be a comprehensive presentation of history, as it is only the beginning of further research of Bulduri in order to create a permanent exposition in larger spaces. There is still a lack of information and there are many uncertainties and mysteries, which, like the Bulduri coin deposit, which can be seen in the exhibition, have not been fully resolved.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Museum of History, the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Ęederts Elias Jelgava Museum of History and Art, the Latvian State Film and Photographic Document Archive of the Latvian National Archives, VAS "Latvijas dzelzceļš", images from the Latvian National Library, visual materials from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia were used. collections. Jūrmala Museum invites city citizens to participate in the creation of the new Bulduri exhibition by sharing their memories, information and objects.

In the historic Water Tower, after reconstruction, you can view exhibitions dedicated to the history and legendary personalities of the Ķemeri area, as well as climb the viewing platforms. Open daily 10.00 - 18.00, admission free.

Aquatic lyricism and politics in Barbara Gaile’s solo exhibition AQUA.WATER

Barbara Gaile’s intentions show both modesty and ambition. The artist’s choice to paint and draw nothing but fragments of aquatic surfaces casts her latest exhibition in the light of disciplined serialism, where every subsequent image is a surprise in terms of nuance and a repetition in the larger scheme of things which has a single focus – water.

The water’s imagery is straightforward, so Gaile’s latest output can be called aesthetic landscape. Gaile treats water as a physical and biological matter that yields to idealisation and sets a certain mood. She uses a conceptual approach where water has become (if I may call it so) a screen reflecting the sky, the time of day and its state of light, the wind and an invisible realm of aquatic flora and fauna that gives the water its colour and plasticity. Water and all its atoms become a scenic image. At the same time, every scene is a moment in the viewer’s consciousness.

All the exhibits are new and never displayed before.

Ieva Putniņa's exhibition "Kaķacs" features three large-format paintings and stone sculptures that combine both autobiographical and motifs related to Aspazija and Raini.

The exhibition "Color Poet. Vilhelms Purvītis – Aspazija's neighbor in Dubultos" will give an insight into Purvītis' summers in Jūrmala, the artist's sources of inspiration in the famous Latvian resort town and his relationship with his no less famous neighbor - the poetess Aspazija.
The exhibition includes the original works of Purvīš created in Jūrmala from the Zuzān collection of the Latvian National Art Museum and Art Center "Zuzeum". For the first time, high-quality reproductions of paintings made in Jurmala, whose fate was unknown a few years ago, or could only be seen in black and white photographs, are exhibited.

The exhibition "Color Poet. Vilhelms Purvītis - Aspazija's neighbor in Dubultos" was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Art Museum and Art Center "Zuzeum", the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts, the Swedish Museum of Modern Art and the Benešov Museum of Art and Design in the Czech Republic. The works created by Vilhelm Purvīš in Jūrmala will be on display in Aspazija's house until November 9, 2024.

From 11 September at the Jūrmala Museum (Tirgoņu iela 29, Majori), there will be an exhibition Draw a Line in the Sand by Laima Puntule, a Latvian painter currently living in Denmark, and Amnija Bay by Anne Maria Udsen, an artist living in Sweden. A few years ago, both artists also exhibited together at the World Latvian Art Centre in Cēsis, which explores the work of artists in exile.

The Bulduri Exhibition House (Muižas iela 6, Jūrmala) will host Astra Šēnberga's first solo exhibition Everything is in the Head, which continues to introduce visitors to contemporary ceramic trends. The exhibition of large-format objects Athletic Progression by Ojūnas Batbajaras was very popular. Astra Šēnberga presents ceramic objects and installations with elements of play.

She has created light ceramic objects for the exhibition, installations that resemble drawings in the air, and has also used elements of play in her works. The works are made of stoneware and porcelain.

During the two days, everyone can enjoy the following programme. 

The 16th European Bridge League Minor Federation Cup will start on 8 October. The competition will take place in the Latvian resort town of Jurmala from 8 to 11 October and 14 countries have now confirmed their participation.
Each team will play one full match, the competition will take place at the five-star Baltic Beach Hotel in Jurmala.
All rounds will be broadcast live on the biggest bridge platform BBO (Bridge Base Online), the last two rounds on 11 September will be broadcast on TV4 and sportacentrs.com.
The event will be attended by European Bridge League President Eric Laurant and Vice President Igor Chalupec, and will be officiated by Marc van Beijsterveldt from the Netherlands, one of the best referees in the world.
The competition is organised by the European Bridge League in cooperation with the Latvian Bridge Federation, the main sponsor of the competition is the administration of Jūrmala.

Danish composer and saxophone virtuoso Lars Møller will perform for the first time with the Latvian Radio Big Band at the Dzintari Concert Hall.

The concert program will include excerpts from Lars Møller’s most ambitious work, “ReWrite of Spring,” which incorporates modern big band sound into Igor Stravinsky’s compositional ideas. Alongside this, the audience will hear pieces that blend influences from various cultures, as well as some of the most striking works from different periods of the composer’s career.

The duet concert program “Garden of Sound” by soprano Aija Veismane and harpist Elizabeta Lāce offers the music of the first half of the 20th century in Western Europe and the works of Latvian composers, surrounded by a bright and clear atmosphere, with the desire to take the listener from everyday trivialities through musical paths to bright places in the heart of the emotional revelation of the compositions. The program will also include Aija Veismane’s cycle for voice with harp and Elizabeta Lāce’s prelude for harp.
