Opening of the  exhibition "Raža"- "Harvest".

The exhibition brings together 25 artists who started their studies at the Latvian Art Academy in 1987, but currently work in various art and design sectors. From representing Latvia at the Venice Biennale to illustrating children's books, everyone fulfills their mission as an artist and with their "harvest" everyone is needed and useful in their place.

The exhibition "Harvest" will be on display at the Jurmala Museum from May 31 to July 2.
 

The folk dance festival "Latvian children lead the dance" will take place in Jūrmala on June 2.

3,663 dancers from 174 collectives are preparing for the festival, representing all cultural and historical regions of Latvia.

The folk dance festival will be opened with a traditional procession of the participants. The march will start in the Dzintari forest park at 10.00 and the participants of the festival will go along Jomas Street up to Horna Garden. Further, the procession along Omnibusa Street, crossing Jūras Street, will go to the sea.  

At 11.00 in Majoru-Dzintari seaside, on the section from Omnibusa Street to Turaida Street, the campaign "Svētku smilšu sakta" will take place - dancers will make sand figures in the shape of a brooch in Liedaga.

From 13.00 to 16.00 there will be concerts of the festival participants in the city. In the Dzintari forest park, in the Horna garden and in front of the Kauguru Culture House, the dancers will perform their favorite folk dances selected by the collective itself.

At 17.00, a grand concert of regional dancers "Kajin', vējin' - boom!" will take place in Kauguru Park. At the concert, it will be possible to see miniature performances, performed by dancers from Gulbene, Bauska, Tukums, Balvi, Talsi, Saldus and Ludza regions, Riga and Jūrmala. Creative workshops will be open at the event site - accessory and card making and woodworking workshop. Sports activities will take place, there will be an opportunity to take a snapshot as a memory from Jurmala.

The concert programme will include both well-known and much-loved songs, as well as premieres from the upcoming album, which will be released in autumn next year.

One of the greatest contemporary singers, three-time Grammy Award winner – Joyce DiDonato, for the first time in Latvia. The star of world opera will present her new project – “Eden”. The concert program will feature music by Handel, Purcell, Mahler, Wagner and Ives.

The new project of Joyce DiDonato called “Eden” was created not only as a concert, but also as a program of a pedagogical and interdisciplinary nature. It is based on the singer’s desire to explore the connection of each person with nature and the impact of individual actions on the planet. In collaboration with the orchestra “Il Pomo d’Oro”, DiDonato has come up with a repertoire that deepens this theme through a variety of musical languages, from the 17th century to Rachel Portman, the British composer who won an Oscar for the soundtrack to the film “Emma” (1996) and who was commissioned for the play “The First morning of the world”, specially for this project.

The ensemble “Il Pomo d’Oro” , an authentic baroque band, will perform with the famous mezzo-soprano.

Daniil Bulajev together with his self-created chamber orchestra "Davinspiro camerata" will take the stage to play a gorgeous, emotional and somewhat poignant program. Together with the young musicians, the experienced and excellent double bassist Grigory Kovalevsky will perform. We will hear the cheerful "Seasons" of Vivaldi, based on the text of Italian sonnets, and the author of these lines may have been the composer himself. Bird songs, happy farmers, nymphs and the changing of the seasons - all this can be heard in this music. Along with Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky's "Seasons" will also be played. The composer included all the months of the year in the cycle, characterizing them either in the form of a mood or with some special event. The cycle was once commissioned by him by the St. Petersburg music publication "Nouvellist", in whose pages the corresponding "Seasons" composition appeared every month. At the end of the concert, the "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" by Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla will be played. This melancholic music permeated with passion will vibrate the soul strings of every listener.

On June 29, the second international concert of young opera singers will take place in Dzintari concert hall, accompanied by a symphony orchestra, and conducted by Mārtiņš Ozoliņš.

All seven young soloists who will take the stage on June 29, 2023, are scholarship holders of the SIAA-foundation from the Principality of Liechtenstein. They will delight the audience by performing the most popular opera classics – famous arias and D. Verdi, W.A. Mozart, V. Bellini, D. Rossini, Zh. Bizet, G. Donizetti, D. Puccini, I. Strauss, and other world opera classics. They are Romanas Kudriashova (baritone, Lithuania), Inma Hidalgo (soprano, Spain), David Jagodic (tenor, Slovenia), Cassandra Wyss (soprano, Liechtenstein), Sreten Manojlovic (bass-baritone, Serbia), Valerio Borgioni (tenor, Italy) and Eglė Wyss (Sidlauskaite) (mezzo soprano, Lithuania).

The young artists are interesting, promising professionals who give concerts in the most famous opera houses around the world. Among the participants are winners of such well-known competitions as Placido Domingo’s “Operalia”, BBC “Voice of Cardiff”.

Nino Katamadze does not need to be introduced to our public, the singer is known, appreciated and loved. The Rustavi Ensemble, the pride of Georgia, and the true custodian of its national heritage is celebrating its 55th anniversary in 2023. During this time, they travelled to more than 80 countries and gave over 5,000 concerts. For their contribution to the development and popularization of Georgian culture, Rustavi were awarded various prizes and awards. The Rustavi Ensemble, which has the unique feature of winning the hearts of its audience, successfully give concerts both in Georgia and abroad.

The “Romance” trio revives the high traditions of salon music of the 18th-19th centuries, preserving the authentic emotional colors of romance and introducing a new, modern interpretation to the performances. The ensemble’s repertoire includes old and modern romances in their own original arrangements, as well as retro-lyrics, jazz (tango, waltzes, foxtrots). The vocal trio “Romance” also performs songs in English, and Italian.

The trio is characterized by a soft, delicate manner of performance, melodiousness, amazing harmony of voices, sincerity, charm, and elegance – all of this combined with the boldness of their own arrangements, excellent sense of measure, and high professionalism. The ensemble is a laureate of many international competitions held in Great Britain, Finland, and other countries. At the international festival of vocal ensembles in Tampere (Finland) in 2005, they were awarded a special prize.

The trio performs extensively in Estonia and beyond (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Great Britain, Lithuania, Latvia).

Since 2016, the best Latvian opera singer of all time, mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca, and the Art Forte company have collaborated in the project Elina Garanca and Friends, offering the Dzintari Concert Hall audience delightful concerts with the participation of world stars and promising performers on the cusp of a career. The performances of Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Hibla Gerzmava, Olga Peretyatko, Dmitro Popov, Jonathan Tetelman and Marina Monzo with the Festival Orchestra conducted by Karel Mark Chichon, the artistic director of the project, made a strong impression on the audience. "Raiņa sēta" is a complex of wooden architectural buildings in Jūrmala, located in Jaundubulti, on Poruka prospect 61. One of the buildings is a summer house built by Rainis and Aspazija in 1904, which in its 115-year long life has met both the creative intelligentsia and Soviet pioneers. At the end of 2019, the restoration of the buildings was completed and the place got its second breath.

The unaccustomed duet of Aija Andrejeva and Jānis Aišpurs sang their own and other authors' compositions in the atmospheric concert "12 stories for a summer evening". "12 stories for a summer evening" are twelve songs from the repertoire of both musicians, which are of special importance in the artists' stage activities and lives - they are musical stories about their childhood, adventures, experiences, pranks, family, traditions, love, friendship and much more.

"Raiņa sēta" is a complex of wooden architectural buildings in Jūrmala, located in Jaundubulti, on Poruka prospect 61. One of the buildings is a summer house built by Rainis and Aspazija in 1904, which in its 115-year long life has met both the creative intelligentsia and Soviet pioneers. At the end of 2019, the restoration of the buildings was completed and the place got its second breath.

Bulduri market will open its doors after extensive renovation works. In the restored market, everyone will be able to see what was done during the reconstruction, as well as taste and buy goods from local merchants.
On the opening day, a wide program of activities is planned - visitors will be greeted by delicious food, games for children, as well as raffles, attractions and music.
The market will sell goods of popular brands such as 10 Hits, Pienaveikals, Hartvik F, ManguMangas, as well as rich products of farmers' self-producers from Z/S Brieži, Z/S Vārpa and delicacies of Georgian cuisine.
Several sales points and parking lots have been created in the market area, including for people with special needs and two electric car charging points.
The  market will be open every day (including holidays) from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.

For the first time in Latvia, the famous Ukrainian choreographer and director Oļena Koliadenko's ballet "Freedom Ballet" will perform in the Dzintari concert hall with the dance show "SKAPIS".

The legendary Ukrainian ballet "Freedom" recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, and its entire biography would be difficult to fit even in the world's largest book. But the last decade of their incredible journey has been put in… “The Closet”!

"Skapis" is more than a dance performance - it has become the quintessence of the vision of the creative world of "Freedom Ballet" and hides the whole universe of director and director Olena Koliadenko and her indispensable dance theater family.

The "closet" will be opened to you as a "living museum" with very personal stories and specific people. Just you, 14 dancers and their poignant stories. The aim of the dance experiment is to get to know yourself so deeply that you can do without masks. But the main participant in the experiment is still the viewer.

The show is intended for adult viewers, people with life experience, and it is designed so that you walk on the edge of purely human emotions: joy, sadness, fear, disappointment, admiration. The production has elements of an immersive performance that involves the audience in the story.

Part of the funds earned at the concert will be directed to the support of the Ukrainian army and Ukrainian families affected by the war.

Ballet "Freedom" has played more than five thousand dance and theater performances during its career, as well as participated in the most important television projects in Ukraine and abroad. The collective has performed to great acclaim in more than 30 countries, starred in more than 50 projects by leading artists and collaborated with the legendary Cirque du Soleil, where they shared the stage with burlesque star Dita Von Teese.

There will be a musical and poetic performance - songs from Latvia, Lithuania, etc. dedicated to the era of Soviet modernism. Finalization of the exhibition of photographs of architectural heritage objects, as well as paintings of the Jūrmala coast. The program includes compositions and poetry that will help you feel the feelings of the "passing era". The author and organizer of the event is the popular Latvian director, actress, producer, Doctor of Arts Marija de Valukofa.

The organizers offer to talk about the "passing era", to remember how it was, how it began and how it disappeared forever. During the event, viewers will see architectural projects, hear about their past and present, about what failed. Hits of the 70s by D. Tuhmanova, M. Tariverdiyev and other authors, poetry by J. Yevtushenko, A. Voznesenska, G. Shpalikova, B. Ahmadulina will be played.

"Raiņa sēta" is a complex of wooden architectural buildings in Jūrmala, located in Jaundubulti, on Poruka prospect 61. One of the buildings is a summer house built by Rainis and Aspazija in 1904, which in its 115-year long life has met both the creative intelligentsia and Soviet pioneers. At the end of 2019, the restoration of the buildings was completed and the place got its second breath.
