Jūrmala Festival at Dzintari Concert Hall, 15–20 July

From 15 to 20 July, the annual Jūrmala Festival will take place at Dzintari Concert Hall, featuring outstanding Latvian and international artists. This is a unique opportunity to experience a rich program of symphonic and operatic music, chamber performances, and the energy of flamenco dancers.

15 July. Opening concert – The Three Osokins and the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra
The festival opens with pianists Sergejs Osokins, Andrejs Osokins, and Georgijs Osokins performing alongside the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Guntis Kuzma.

Program highlights:
– Romantic piano concerto excerpts by Robert Schumann and Edvard Grieg
– Maurice Ravel’s Bolero arranged for three pianos
– Mozart’s Concerto for Three Pianos and Orchestra
– Bach’s Concerto for Four Pianos in D minor (after Vivaldi)

This traditional festival concert brings together musicians born in Latvia across different generations:

Aleksandrs Antoņenko, Zanda Švēde, Annija Kristiāna Ādamsone, Rammon Jaffé, Poļina Hļebņikova, Ksenija Sidorova, Elza Siliņa, and the Jūrmala Festival Orchestra, conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis.

The program features works by:
– Mozart, Beethoven, Dārziņš, Ivanovs, Vivaldi, and others
– A new composition by Ernests MedenisGaismas pilī, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Jāzeps Vītols

18 July. Ksenija Sidorova, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, and conductor Andris Poga

Program:
– Respighi’s Fountains of Rome
– Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8
– Dobrinka Tabakova’s Concerto for Accordion and Orchestra (Latvian premiere)

The concerto was commissioned by several European orchestras and is dedicated to Ksenija Sidorova.

Same evening – Late-night concert: Luiz Murakami (jazz, bossa nova)
Brazilian singer and guitarist Luiz Murakami blends the warmth of bossa nova with the freedom of jazz.
