Photo project "Baltic Notes" by French photographer Philippe Margot
- 28.May - 30.July
- Jomas iela 35
The exhibition at the Jurmala Cultural Center features specially created photographs taken at the end of 2024, when photographer Philippe Margeau visited Latvia.
The project "Baltic Notes" - "Carnets Baltique" is a journey by photographer Philippe Margeau around the Baltic Sea.
It is a journey through eight countries: Finland, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden and their islands. Photographer Philippe Margeau has always been attracted by these Northern European countries.
The project "Baltic Notes" began in 2016, and it is planned to continue for a few more years. To do this, in June 2018, F. Margeau moved from Paris to Gdańsk in Poland, in order to immerse himself in the Baltic climate on a daily basis, get to know it, understand and feel its atmosphere, explore its coast and get to know its inhabitants. He has created a kind of "base camp" in Gdańsk to be able to travel (or return) to other Baltic countries. None of this would have been possible if the artist had stayed in France.
Free admission.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 18:00, closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The exhibition is open until July 30.

Exhibition ''Very small celebrations'' by Pauls Rietums and Kristaps Ancāns at the Art Station Dubulti
- 6.June - 15.September
- Zigfrīda Meierovica prospekts 4
The exhibition, created by artists Kristaps Ancāns and Pauls Rietums, marks the tenth year of the Art Station “Dubulti”.
Since 2015, the Art Station has given a new perspective on the possibilities of contemporary art in public infrastructure. Dubulti Station has developed into a hybrid space, without exchanging one function for another, as the visitor is a guest in both the exhibition space and the station. This interaction creates an accessible cultural space, allowing contemporary art to enter the everyday life of society.
The center of the exhibition is proto-industrial modular systems. They have been developed in collaboration with “Latvijas Finieri”, “Troja” and “IGLU Soft Play”.
Using spatial interventions and material experiments, the exhibition shows the multilayered architectural identity of Dubulti Station — from its roots in socialist representational architecture to the avant-garde embedded in form, unexpectedly connected to a lyrical narrative.
Supported by: Jurmala City Administration, State Cultural Capital Foundation, Domobaal Gallery (London).
Open-air exhibition "Jūrmalai - 65" in Bulduri
- 21.April - 1.September
- Park at the Bulduri Railway Station
- Skvērs pie Bulduru dzelzceļa stacijas
On November 11, 2024, the city of Jurmala celebrated 65 years old since its establishment. Jurmala is a relatively new city, but the neighborhoods that make it up have a centuries-old and eventful history. The formation of the city of Jūrmala can be figuratively compared to three rivers, which, merging together, form the sea: Jūrmala was formed by combining three former cities - Sloka, Ķemeru and Riga Jūrmala. The city of Jūrmala stretches along a 24-kilometer long strip between the Gulf of Riga and Lielupi, covering several parts of the city - 26 neighborhoods, each of which has its own history and characteristic features that together make up Jūrmala. The exhibition presents a retrospection of the development of Jūrmala districts through reproductions of images from the collection of the Jūrmala Museum, which reflect scenes from the life of the city from different time periods.
