Felix MENDELSSOHN Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Arturs MASKATS Cello Concerto no. 2.

Felix MENDELSSOHN Symphony no. 3 (Scottish).

Through the evocative music of Mendelssohn, we will journey into the enchanting world of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The piece will be complemented by the Cello Concerto from Arturs Maskats, inspired by the great English poet’s sonnets and featuring soloist Kristaps Bergs, who also performed at the work’s premiere in 2022. The concert concludes with Mendelssohn’s Third Symphony, inspired by his travels through the landscapes of Scotland.
