The legendary “Līvi” – rock musician Ainars Virga will celebrate his 60th birthday and everyone is invited to an ambitious birthday concert in Liepāja’s Olympic Center and on July 22 in Jūrmala, Dzintari Concert Hall.

Speaking about the upcoming jubilee concert, Virga states that it is important for him that those musicians who have played a role in his life perform at it. There are a lot of them. There will be surprises, the artist promises! Handball enthusiasts and beach lovers are invited to take part in the beach and mini handball tournament "Jūrmala 2024".

Whether you are an experienced handball player or just want to try your skills on the sand, this will be a great opportunity to enjoy active leisure on the seaside.

The adult competition will be held in men's and women's categories. Participation is open to teams of Latvian or non-Latvian nationals aged 15 and over.

The children's tournament will be held in both girls' and boys' competitions, with two age groups in each category - U10 (born 2014) and U12 (born 2012). The maximum number of teams per age group and category is six.

The duration of the walking tour is approx. 1.5 hours, during which the participants will learn about the history of the resort town, see the most striking architectural monuments, and learn the secrets of Jomas Street. No prior application is required. The language of the excursion depends on the composition of the group (Latvian, English or Russian). The tour takes place if at least 4 people have arrived. Joji Hirota is no doubt one of Europe’s most renowned percussionists. Born in Northern Japan, at the age of seven, he started a lifelong study of percussion. In 1972 Joji Hirota became the musical director and percussionist of the Red Buddha Theatre. In 1977 he joined the Lindsay Kemp Dance Company in which he performed the same duties. In 1991 he won the Time Out Award for best dance company for their production of “Onnagata” for which Hirota wrote and performed the music. During this period, Joji Hirota toured extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada and the USA, South America and Japan.

In June this year, Brūs Kalniņš graduated from the LMA Bachelor's programme in Metal Design with a brilliantly defended diploma thesis False Impressions of Senses. Perhaps the experience of the exhibition will make the phrase "Turn off that noise! in relation to the author's heart's business - heavy metal.

Every Sunday at 12.00 from Jūrmala Tourist Information Center (Lienes iela 5, Majori) there is an opportunity to join an excursion around the center of Jurmala. Electronic music event. A chance to enjoy electronic music in unusual moods in four different locations - the Lutheran Church (together with the Angel+Beats project), Ķemeri Resort Park, and the Forest House neighbourhood. The music will be accompanied by unusual art and other activities.

On 25 August, in Kauguri, Kauguri Park, for the ninth year in a row, the International Jūrmala Colour Run will take place, where participants will have the opportunity to experience the festival atmosphere during a five-kilometre run.

The Color Run is unique and popular all over the world, with more than 8 million participants every year.

The Colour Run is open to everyone, no age limit, and offers the joy of colour and a true festival atmosphere. This year, the organisers will also have special surprises for participants, as Jūrmala Colour Run is part of the Disco Tour of "The Colour Run" brand and is included in the global brand concept. The Jūrmala Colour Run will also include the traditional Zumba masterclasses, led by coaches from the Baltic States.

Participants will have to complete a 5-kilometre distance, and children can also take part in the children's races, which will take place before the start of the colour race. The start of the Colour Race will be in Kauguri, Kauguri Park (Mazā Nometņu iela 1). You can run, walk, dance or just enjoy the fest atmosphere. There will be four colour points and one foam point.

At each kilometre of the distance, participants will be awarded with the colours. The colour run uses licensed food colouring, which is 100% natural and safe for the environment and people.

The Jūrmala Colour Run dress code is white.
