Sculptor Kristaps Gulbis. Sculptural object "Pine trees of Rainis" is located in a favourite resting place of Rainis to which he devoted a poem "Broken pine trees", and which symbolically perpetuate the memory and witness of the time, place and events that have unfolded here. Sculpture is located in the dune area in Pumpuri, in the end of Amatas street, where the last of the three legendary pine trees of Rains stand. Jūrmala is closely linked with the life and memory of Rainis and Aspazija. Our city has two museums dedicated to these poets: summer cottage of Rainis and Aspazija, and House of Aspazija.
