During the autumn and winter season, from November 1 to March 31, Jūrmala’s beaches are open to our four-legged friends! During this period, you are welcome to enjoy seaside walks with your dog, provided it is kept on a leash.

The opportunity to visit Jūrmala’s beaches with pets during the colder months was introduced following residents’ initiative and approved by the Jūrmala City Council in 2024. The updated local regulations now allow walking dogs on the beach from November 1 to March 31.

After a seaside walk, stop by one of Jūrmala’s cafés that warmly welcome dogs: MarMar Cafe, Cafe Bitīte, Randevu, Cafe 53, the House of Light grill bar, which also offers a special menu for dogs, Kafijas stūrītis, Kūriņš, taverna-pizzeria Pie Kļavas, LightHouse Jurmala, Lokāls Veranda, Restorāns Laivas, Zem Burām, Vaivari Kitchen, Neptūns, Cafe Alba, Kinza House, Simply Beach House, and Stacija Majori, where four-legged guests can even enjoy a special ice cream.

Also, in Jūrmala, a wide range of hotels welcome guests with pets — simply select the appropriate filters in the hotel booking platform’s search section.

From April 1 to October 31, being on the beach, taking walks, or swimming with pets is prohibited. The restriction is in place to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, water quality, and public safety during the busy summer season. Compliance is monitored by the Jūrmala Municipal Police.
