Dzintari Concert Hall to open the summer concert season on 29 May

On 29 May, the 2026 summer concert season will open at Dzintari Concert Hall with a special concert featuring internationally acclaimed Latvian musicians Kristīne Balanas (violin) and Margarita Balanas (cello), the choirs Kamēr… and Ave Sol, soprano Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine, baritone Rihards Millers and the festival orchestra conducted by Aivis Greters.

The concert programme will include Johannes Brahms’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, the cantata “Brīnumzeme” by Pēteris Barisons with poetry by Jānis Akuraters, and music by contemporary Latvian composer Jēkabs Jančevskis. The concert will also feature the premiere of the concert suite “Zeme, kas dzied”, created especially for the anniversary season of Dzintari Concert Hall.

This season is particularly special, as Dzintari Concert Hall will celebrate its 90th anniversary on 27 June. Since 1936, the concert hall has been one of the most important centres of musical life in Latvia, hosting outstanding Latvian and international artists every summer.

More information is available on the Dzintari Concert Hall website.
