The exhibition presents both known and unknown events, facts and pictures that tell the story of the Bulduri area.

 The authors of the exhibition do not pretend to be a comprehensive presentation of history, as it is only the beginning of further research of Bulduri in order to create a permanent exposition in larger spaces. There is still a lack of information and there are many uncertainties and mysteries, which, like the Bulduri coin deposit, which can be seen in the exhibition, have not been fully resolved.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Museum of History, the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Ęederts Elias Jelgava Museum of History and Art, the Latvian State Film and Photographic Document Archive of the Latvian National Archives, VAS "Latvijas dzelzceļš", images from the Latvian National Library, visual materials from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia were used. collections. Authors of the exhibition: Inta Baumane, Līga Strazda, Egita Cironokas, artist Gundars Gulbis.

Exhibition of painter Valdis Bušs.

A new exhibition "Meeting Place" by artists Juris Bergin and Živile Bardzilauskaite- Bergin opens at the Aspazija House.

The two artists met in Jurmala in 1993 at a porcelain painting symposium at the Dzintari Artists' House of the Artists' Union of Latvia. In their creative search, they found not only their way to each other, but also their vocation in art, to which they have remained faithful ever since. "Živile's painting moved from porcelain vessels to canvas, and the style was developed in Jurmala in 1993. These symposia were also very significant for me, because when I was decorating the vessels of the Riga porcelain factory in the late 1980s, I had the idea of creating painted, sculptural three-dimensional works from porcelain with realistic images, which I then further polished in Jurmala," says Juris Bergins.

The exhibition "Meeting Place" is a tribute by Živilė Bardzilauskaitė- Bergin and Juris Bergin to the city where the two artists met. Although the exhibition mostly features works created in the last five years, it also includes porcelain objects created during the symposia held at the Dzintari Artists' House at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s.

Aquatic lyricism and politics in Barbara Gaile’s solo exhibition AQUA.WATER

Barbara Gaile’s intentions show both modesty and ambition. The artist’s choice to paint and draw nothing but fragments of aquatic surfaces casts her latest exhibition in the light of disciplined serialism, where every subsequent image is a surprise in terms of nuance and a repetition in the larger scheme of things which has a single focus – water.

The water’s imagery is straightforward, so Gaile’s latest output can be called aesthetic landscape. Gaile treats water as a physical and biological matter that yields to idealisation and sets a certain mood. She uses a conceptual approach where water has become (if I may call it so) a screen reflecting the sky, the time of day and its state of light, the wind and an invisible realm of aquatic flora and fauna that gives the water its colour and plasticity. Water and all its atoms become a scenic image. At the same time, every scene is a moment in the viewer’s consciousness.

All the exhibits are new and never displayed before.

Get ready for an exciting sports adventure at Majori Beach!

Handball enthusiasts and beach lovers are invited to take part in the beach and mini handball tournament "Jūrmala 2024".

Whether you are an experienced handball player or just want to try your skills on the sand, this will be a great opportunity to enjoy active leisure on the seaside.

The adult competition will be held in men's and women's categories. Participation is open to teams of Latvian or non-Latvian nationals aged 15 and over.

The children's tournament will be held in both girls' and boys' competitions, with two age groups in each category - U10 (born 2014) and U12 (born 2012). The maximum number of teams per age group and category is six.

On 3 August, in Kauguri, Kauguri Park, for the ninth year in a row, the International Jūrmala Colour Run will take place, where participants will have the opportunity to experience the festival atmosphere during a five-kilometre run.

The Color Run is unique and popular all over the world, with more than 8 million participants every year.

The Colour Run is open to everyone, no age limit, and offers the joy of colour and a true festival atmosphere. This year, the organisers will also have special surprises for participants, as Jūrmala Colour Run is part of the Disco Tour of "The Colour Run" brand and is included in the global brand concept. The Jūrmala Colour Run will also include the traditional Zumba masterclasses, led by coaches from the Baltic States.

Participants will have to complete a 5-kilometre distance, and children can also take part in the children's races, which will take place before the start of the colour race. The start of the Colour Race will be in Kauguri, Kauguri Park (Mazā Nometņu iela 1). You can run, walk, dance or just enjoy the fest atmosphere. There will be four colour points and one foam point.

At each kilometre of the distance, participants will be awarded with the colours. The colour run uses licensed food colouring, which is 100% natural and safe for the environment and people.

The Jūrmala Colour Run dress code is white.

Joji Hirota is no doubt one of Europe’s most renowned percussionists. Born in Northern Japan, at the age of seven, he started a lifelong study of percussion. In 1972 Joji Hirota became the musical director and percussionist of the Red Buddha Theatre. In 1977 he joined the Lindsay Kemp Dance Company in which he performed the same duties. In 1991 he won the Time Out Award for best dance company for their production of “Onnagata” for which Hirota wrote and performed the music. During this period, Joji Hirota toured extensively throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada and the USA, South America and Japan.

The duration of the walking tour is approx. 1.5 hours, during which the participants will learn about the history of the resort town, see the most striking architectural monuments, and learn the secrets of Jomas Street. No prior application is required. The language of the excursion depends on the composition of the group (Latvian, English or Russian). The tour takes place if at least 4 people have arrived.
