Democratic “Holiday Music” Concerts Resume at Dzintari Concert Hall

On February 2, the democratic “Holiday Music” concerts will resume at Dzintari Concert Hall, allowing listeners to enjoy outstanding music in a relaxed atmosphere while conversing with the artists. A saxophone and guitar duet is an unusual timbral combination, yet remarkably harmonious, offering listeners a rare experience not only in Latvia’s concert scene. The program will feature works composed specifically for this ensemble, including Alexander Elliott Miller’s "Chaparral", inspired by California’s wild landscapes, James Crowley’s picturesque suite "Tableaux Vivants", and Andy Scott’s jazz-infused composition "Nemesis".

A significant part of the program is dedicated to the legendary Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla, whose music is imbued with deep emotion, passion, refined sensuality, and vibrant energy. The concert will highlight his four-part cycle "History of Tango", as well as two solo works – the virtuosic "Tango Etude" for saxophone and the playful "Decarisimo" for guitar.
