Major Events in Jūrmala 2025

In 2025, Jūrmala offers a diverse program of events, from cultural and artistic events to sports activities and nature exploration. Traditional celebrations, international festivals, concerts, sports competitions, and entertainment for the whole family mark the annual calendar.
In spring, Jūrmala hosts excursion and nature exploration weeks, scientific conferences, Easter celebrations, Museum Night, and water motorsport competitions. During the summer, the city offers beach volleyball tournaments, theater festivals, music concerts, and the grand Resort Festival. In autumn, the city celebrates Poetry Days, Traveler’s Days, and Latvia’s Independence Day with the spectacular “Path of Light” candle-lit event. At the end of the year, the Christmas Festival at Dzintari Concert Hall and the Winter Solstice celebration at the Open-Air Museum bring warmth and a sense of togetherness.

April 3 – 5 – International Scientific Conference “The Diversity of Life in a Seaside Resort: Social and Cultural Life in Jūrmala Through the Centuries”

The conference will focus on Jūrmala’s history and the development of resort culture in the Baltic Sea region. The event will feature the presentation of the first volume of the scientific journal Jūrmalas muzeja raksti and a guided tour of Jūrmala’s historic sites.
April 5 – 6 – Spring Birdwatching Days

June 12 – 15 – Beach Volleyball World Tour “Futures” Series

The prestigious Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Futures tournament in Majori Beach welcomes 24 men’s and 24 women’s teams, with up to 32 duos competing in the qualifiers for a place in the main draw. Latvian teams have guaranteed spots in the tournament, with up to 12 local duos competing.
June 15 – Educational Event on Midsummer Traditions

The Open-Air Museum invites visitors to learn about Latvian Midsummer (Jāņi) traditions and solstice rituals. The event includes workshops on the significance of Midsummer herbs, traditional songs, and lighting the bonfire. JULY
July 3 – Young International Opera Stars

A gala concert featuring talented young opera singers, all scholarship recipients of the SIAA Foundation. Under the baton of Latvian National Opera’s chief conductor Mārtiņš Ozoliņš, the soloists perform masterpieces of opera classics, offering audiences a chance to hear future opera stars on Jūrmala’s prestigious stage.
July 15 – 20 – Jūrmala Festival

The annual music festival presents a diverse concert program, starting with a performance by the piano trio Trīs Osokini and followed by the Born in Latvia concert, featuring outstanding Latvian musicians. The festival also includes a performance by the Barcelona Flamenco Ballet, a concert by accordionist Ksenija Sidorova and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, as well as a midnight concert with Brazilian pianist Luiz Murakami. The festival concludes with a grand gala concert featuring opera stars such as tenor Aleksandrs Antoņenko and soprano Inga Kalna, and the traditional sunrise concert at Dzintari Beach, with organist Iveta Apkalna delivering an unforgettable musical experience in harmony with nature.

November 18 – Latvia’s Independence Day and “Path of Light” Candle-Lit Event (Latvijas Republikas Neatkarības diena un “Gaismas ceļš”)

On the anniversary of Latvia’s proclamation, Jūrmala is illuminated by the country’s longest candle-lit installation – the “Path of Light”, a stunning display of 12,500 candles stretching 20 kilometers from Priedaine to Ķemeri and along Jomas Street.
Alongside the “Path of Light”, Jūrmala hosts various celebrations for Lāčplēsis Day and Latvia’s National Holiday, including concerts, commemorative ceremonies, and torchlight processions. The festive program features musical performances, patriotic activities, and a solemn yet joyful atmosphere of national pride.
November 29 – Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
