Ķemeri Water Tower opens to visitors in the summer

One of the most popular cultural and historical objects of Jūrmala — Ķemeri Water Tower, located in the territory of the historical Ķemeri Resort Park territory, will reopen on 27 April. It will be open to the public free of charge until 27 October every day from 10:00 to 18:00.

The Ķemeri Water Tower offers exhibitions on the twists and turns of the history of the Ķemeri resort, as well as the life stories of prominent personalities. Beautiful views of the Ķemeri vicinity can be enjoyed from two viewing platforms at a height of 12 and 42m. The highest observation platform is only accessible to visitors who make a reservation in advance! Reservations can be made online or by calling +371 67147900 (Jūrmala Tourism Information Centre). Visits to the tower and the exhibitions are free of charge.

Ķemeri Water Tower is the oldest water tower in the city, which celebrates its 95th anniversary this year. It is a national architectural monument and the only water tower in Latvia that still performs its intended function – providing water to the city. Ķemeri Water Tower was opened to visitors in 2021 after major reconstruction, and has become one of the most popular object for tourists in Jūrmala.

In 2021, the Ķemeri Water Tower was awarded a Certificate of Recognition in the category "Restoration" in the competition "Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2020".

In 2023, Ķemeri Historical Park was awarded 2nd prize in the international competition "European Garden Award" in the category "Management or Development of a Historical Park or Garden".
